CELEBRATING 20 YEARS WITH 20 ACTS OF KINDNESS

Returnable Packaging Services (RPS), one of the leading pallets companies in the UK, celebrates its 20th anniversary this month. It plans to mark two successful decades of growth, investment and innovation with 20 acts of kindness over its birthday year.

RPS are known for their work in the pallet industry, collecting and supplying over 2.15 million pallets each year across the UK, as well as offering other services such as shredding wooden packaging for recycling.

The company was originally founded in 2002, from humble beginnings and a staff of just 4, and it now operates from a 3-acre purpose-built site with almost 40 employees.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Managing Director Gary Hudson said “RPS has expanded greatly over the past 20 years, and throughout we have remained true to our vision to be the UK’s “go to” pallet company. The key to our success is our experienced workforce and our invaluable customers. We’ve built an incredible, dedicated team and I am extremely proud of our talent.”

In 2020, RPS financed and moved to their £3m purpose-built site in Eaglescliffe, Teesside, investing in a state-of-the-art wood shredder and heat treatment kiln. This has enabled the business to develop its services to meet the needs of their customers, from returning pallets for reuse to recycling pallets into new product such as animal bedding.

RPS also invests in its employees, being the first pallet company in the UK to create a dedicated training and development programme called The Pallet Academy. This scheme rewards employees and focuses on continual development to provide exceptionally high standards of work.

Over the next 12 months and to celebrate the anniversary, RPS has planned 20 generous acts of kindness. These include; donations to local primary schools, volunteering within the community and a monetary donation to a local nominated charity based on the number of pallets sold over the course of the year. The first act of kindness is a donation to local charity, Billingham and Stockton Borough Foodbank.

Gary continued: “We continue to work extremely hard to give the best service our customers deserve and we’ve built many strong partnerships with our long-standing customers and associates. I’d like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past 20 years and we look forward to the new and exciting opportunities that the next 20 years will bring.” To follow Returnable Packaging Services’ 20 acts of kindness, go to www.rpsltd.com or follow them on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
